Reinventing how filmmakers distribute their message.

A Revolutionary Paradigm

Maitland Primrose Group took the successfully restructured and newly built infrastructure put into place for Moving Pictures magazine in 2005 and launched additional media products in January 2006. As mentioned, Moving Pictures' Sundance 2006 Party launched the Maitland Primrose Distribution product placement business.

Maitland Primrose Distribution started distributing all the filmed entertainment content generated by Maitland Primrose Media by packaging such content into segments. As previously mentioned, these segments were shown to more than one million moviegoers a week in movie theaters during the month of February 2006 as "The Moving Pictures Interviews from Sundance", successfully followed in May 2006 with "The Moving Pictures Interviews from Tribeca". As of September 2006 the Company owns more than 100 hours of filmed interviews from the 2006 and 2007Sundance, Tribeca and Cannes film festivals and are now being produced for a multitude of outlets.

Following on the wave of the distribution of our in-house generated content, Maitland Primrose Distribution launched its film distribution business at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2006. Using Moving Pictures magazine's 17 years’ partnerships and attendance with the world's best film festivals and markets and its relationships with independent film companies across the globe, sourcing independent films for Maitland Primrose has been easy and has enabled us to be selective.

Our combined marketing assets provide a far stronger promotional force than traditional independent films receive. We, therefore, provide the solution to the obstacle that most independent films hit. This strength enables us to keep our advertising budget down.

The Company's distribution model utilizing new media and digital cinemas takes the "P" out of the P & A of a film's theatrical budget, which has been the largest barrier to entry to date for movies distributors.

The Future Of Film Distribution

Digital - Maitland Primrose Film Distribution released its first digital cinema feature in March 2007, THE AMERICAN RULING CLASS, to positive audience responses. Future releases will utilize the platform method of releasing film to theatres in one or more markets at a time and gradually widening the release as merited by box office performance. There are hundreds of digital cinemas across the country available, with hundreds, if not thousands planned in the near future.

Foreign Sales and Licensing – In May of 2007, Maitland Primrose launched its sales and licensing arm, MOVING PICTURES FILM AND TELEVISION, at the 60th Anniversary of the Festival du Cannes, with a line up of 10 features, including the documentary, THE WORLD WE WILL CREATE, featuring AL GORE and THINK TANK, the follow up to NAPOLEON DYNAMITE from Alchemist Productions.

This new sales entity will stand out above the rest as a provider of quality, independently produced entertainment steering clear of horror, action and other exploitive genres that is typically the staple for sales companies. Our philosophy is simple. Better quality films will find better quality homes around the world at major foreign distribution companies and broadcasters. We are not interested in making a few quick dollars on exploitation films in the smaller territories. Instead, we are focusing on the larger territories like Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany and Spain and we will establish relationships with the larger distributors and broadcasters in these countries who wish to release quality entertainment.

We shall seek to partner with larger pan-territorial distributors and satellite TV broadcasters for the regions of Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.

Short Films - In addition, we are acquiring a multitude of short films from relationships forged at film festivals, our sponsorship at the Cannes Short Film Corner and the Moving Pictures Magazine Short Film Contest.

The consensus is very strong that short films will have a big part in the upcoming new media plays that include mobile phones, VOD and internet streaming. Our goal is to acquire as much quality short film content as possible in order to meet the needs of these growing markets, which will no doubt be a bulk business.

Immediate uses of such content will be DVD compilations through traditional retail outlets and made-to-order DVDs websites such as CustomFlix.com, as well as streaming from our own website, which may include a subscription model or an internet based TV channel. Current licensing opportunities will include third party streaming internet sites and television such as the Short Film Channel, which is an international satellite channel.
